Tell Severn Trent to Scrap the Bill Rise!
I write to you as a resident of the Dudley Borough and a customer of Severn Trent, deeply concerned by Severn Trent’s recent decision to significantly increase household bills at a time when families are under unprecedented financial pressure.
Households across the West Midlands and beyond are struggling to make ends meet. Asking them to shoulder a 20% increase, while they witness rivers polluted with sewage and vital environmental standards falling short, is a scandal.
I recognise the challenges of maintaining and improving essential infrastructure, however, your appearance in parliament a few weeks ago would seem to indicate that the reason for this rise is to continue to pay dividends to shareholders, meanwhile, families face rising costs and local rivers suffer unacceptable levels of pollution.
We need to see leadership from Severn Trent, leadership that places communities and the environment at the heart of every decision. This moment requires a renewed commitment to reducing sewage discharges, investing in clean water systems, and ensuring customers are treated with fairness and respect.
I urge you to reconsider these price rises and to present a clear, ambitious plan to clean up our rivers and rebuild public trust.
I look forward to your response and to seeing Severn Trent demonstrate the values and integrity that customers and communities rightfully expect.
Scrap the Bill Rise
We're calling on Severn Trent to scrap their unfair price hikes and focus on cleaning up our rivers. At a time when families are struggling with the cost of living, it’s simply wrong to ask people to pay more while sewage is still being dumped into our waterways. I’ve written to the CEO of Severn Trent demanding urgent action — but I need your voice too. ? Add your name to my letter and show Severn Trent that Dudley won’t stand for this. Together, we can demand fairness, accountability, and real environmental responsibility.
